I WILL CASTRATE MY HUSBAND IF HE CHEATS-UCHE JOMBO

Nollywood actress Uche Jombo bares it all about her marriage in a recent interview with Sam Olatunji:

If your husband were to be a serial philanderer like Desmond’s character in the movie, Lies Men Tell, what will you do?
I will castrate him, he knows and believes that. To me, there is no excuse to cheat, its either you are with someone or not, and if you are tired of the person, please accord the person decency of respect by saying it’s over. Don’t go making someone look stupid. The problem with me is there is no in- between.

Do you believe what you are saying or are you saying it for the purpose of this interview?
I am saying,Uche Jombo-Rodrigues doesn’t have in-between. That is the reason it takes me long time to make a decision or take a stand on something, but when I do, that is it. There is no excuse not to honour an agreement you have made, this doesn’t have anything to do with this interview. It is the principle that guides me. It is not just about marriage, it’s how I conduct my relationships, its either it is this or that, if that is mymind-set in a relationship, you should know that for marriage it’ll be 150%. There is no room for cheating.

So you believe your husband will or should not cheat on you?
I don’t have control over what someone will do, I’m not God. I’m talking about me, how I conduct things. It’s not an option that it will happen, I will not tolerate cheating.

Are you saying you will not forgive the man who cheats on you and is manly enough to say I’m sorry?
If you are in that situation Sam, oh God! You are going to slave for me for life. And do you know any man that will want to slave for a woman for life, answer?

Is it true you are older than your husband and the man you dated before him?
I have never dated or married someone I was older than in my life. If you have the illusion of someone’s age, that is your business, and I am even too mature for my age. That is the problem, because men of my age are ‘small boys’ around me, I can’t date them. I am someone who has to become a mother to some of my siblings at the age of 14. Because you are an under-achiever does not mean I should play down on my achievement. If age is the yard stick for you to succeed, you should not judge people with it, I don’t have an apology. If I’m learning from people who are older than me that is because I don’t hang out with my age mates; I don’t think there is anything else you want to teach me, and if you want to judge me by the people I hang out with or by when I started my hustle, where the hell were you at that time?  What really matters to me is that people who know me during my not-too-proud days are so proud that, this is me now. I have come far, it’s something I’m grateful for, and I couldn’t have even written it better if it were a story.

Channels Tv`S Interview With Obahigbon Generates Controversy On Social Media

The video clip of the interview granted by the Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon, to multiple award winning Nigerian television station, Channels Television, has generated a debate on social media.

Nigerians who had watched the video on YouTube and on a a Saturday breakfast programme, Sunrise, said “they could not comprehend the analysis the former member of the House of Representatives gave during the interview”.
According to them, Obahiagbon’s ‘’high sounding grammar’’ is incomprehensible as many sought to know what languages he was mixing up with English.
Besides, many of them who had employed the YouTube’s ‘Transcript’ feature to get an approximate text version of all of the words spoken in the video proved abortive as it could not make “head or tail of his analysis”.
For instance, when one of the presenters, Kayode Akintemi, asked about his thought on the happenings in Rivers State, as a Nigerian, Obahiagbon replied, “Let me say as quickly as possible, the political “crinkum crankum”, if you like, the political “higi haga” that has enveloped the politics of Rivers State for a period of time now has all the trappings of an odoriferous saga cum ‘’gagantuagaga.’’ And I am bewildered that this situation is of no serious concern to the commander-in-chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria…”
Asked if the crisis was getting messier because of the 2015 general election, he said, “Oh it is very crystal clear like the biblical ‘teke teke menoyafasin.’ It is audible to the deaf and visible to the blind.”
He added, “If you look at the totality of the crisis in Rivers State just now, it leaves me with two conclusions that 2015 is inherently laden with a political and democratic ‘talidomine.’ Two, some social scientists like myself have gone to town for donkey years, saying that what we have is not democracy but civilian rule.
“But with recent events, I say no. Nigeria is neither witnessing civilian rule nor democracy but what we have at best is a form of government  I call  ‘kakitomoboplutocracy’ and that is bad for us as a nation.’’
However, Akintemi bewildered by Obahiagbon’s statements, quizzed him on what he meant by “talidomine”, asking, “Talidomine could mean…?” Obahiagbon replied, “I mean it (2015) may be still born.’’
Shortly after watching the video on YouTube, one Fola Durowoju laments, “Please, can someone kindly subtitle this video.’’
A YouTube user, Ovie Simon-Efe, says he wonders how Edo State Governor,  Adams Oshiomhole, manages to comprehend his words whenever they have cause to interact.
One Olayinka Awofodu says, “He’s speaking ‘personalised English.’ Even the YouTube transcript feature is confused.’’
Meanwhile, Some Nigerians say Obahiagbon will not find it difficult to speak in tongues if he decides to venture into church ministry, when he leaves politics.
They say they cannot fathom whether Obahiagbon featured on the programme  as an analyst or for  a comic relief.
“Does this man care that it takes clear communication to encourage listening? Does he really care to talk to be understood? I’d see differently, were it a comedy show or a medical appointment,” a YouTube user, Samuel Abiodun, notes.
He says, “As far as I am concerned, I can see the ship of the Nigerian state hovering around the political Bermuda Triangle, and if we do not take urgent and responsible steps… My critical history and historiography of the study shows that the war of attrition in Rivers State did not commence with the Obio/Okpor political tendency. It commenced, strictly speaking, from the suspicion that Governor Rotimi Amaechi nurses an ambition for the Vice-Presidency of this country.’’

Bomb explosion kills 20 in kano

About 20 people were reportedly killed and several others injured following bomb explosions at a relaxation spot in the Sabon Gari area of Kano state, North West Nigeria.

According to eyewitnesses, the multiple explosions hit the area after someone allegedly dropped Improvised Explosive Devices at the joint while hundreds of people were relaxing after breaking the day’s Ramadan fast.
An eyewitness Tobias Idika, who confirmed the explosion said “for now I can see over 20 people dead while many are injured…right now they are evacuating the victims” he added.
Our correspondent in Kano reports that the police are yet to comment on the issue, but the area has been cordoned off by members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the state.

Ombatse militia challenges panel of enquries

The judicial commission of inquiry set up to probe the killings of security officers in Alakyo village in Nasarawa state, north central Nigeria, has begun sitting but its legality has been called to question.

Counsel to the Ombatse militia, accused of carrying out the killings, Zakaria Alumaga, has challenged the powers of the commission to probe it.
Mr Alumaga faulted the leadership of the commission which was inaugurated in May, based on the penal code which was used to outlaw the group.
He raised a preliminary objection to enable the commission decide “whether it was competent to adjudicate on some of the provisions contained in its terms of reference as regards the alleged proscription of the group by the Nasarawa state Government in 2012.”
But the state government has dismissed the objection as the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Innocent Lagi, said “the commission is all about fact finding and not a Commission for legal interpretations.”
He added that the commission will not be deterred by dissenting voices to its duties and it will continue with its mandate.
The Nigeria Police is expected to make its presentation on August 6th, the State Security Service will make its presentation on August 14thand the Nasarawa state government will be heard on August 15th.
Dozens of police officers were ambushed and allegedly massacred by suspected members of the Ombatse Militia Group in Alakyo village, on May 7.

OPEN UNIVERSITY VC DECRIES POOR ENROLMENT OF NORTHERN STUDENTS

Vice chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Vincent Tenebe, has decried the low enrolment of students from the northern part of the country into the institution compared to their southern counterparts.

At a news conference in Kaduna, Professor Tenebe lamented that despite the flexibility in the admission process of the university, the northern region is yet to make use of the opportunity, adding that only a few number of students from states in the north are studying in the institution.
NYSC for NOUN Graduates
The Vice Chancellor also called for review of the law establishing the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) to enable graduates from NOUN participate in the mandatory national youth service scheme since all its programmes are full time and accredited by the National Universities Commission(NUC).
He used the opportunity to authenticate the certificate of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who graduated as a theological student from the university.
Professor Tenebe described the former president as a “very troublesome but brilliant student.”

No support for Jonathan in 2015, unless … – Igbo youths

LAGOS — AHEAD of the 2015 presidential election, Igbo youths have vowed not back President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid unless he fulfills his 2011 campaign promises to the South-East geo-political zone.
According to the youths, of 10 promises, the President as of now is only tackling one and appears bent on shifting the rest to his second term, which they said was not fair.
President of Igbo Youth Movement, IYM, an amalgam of 42 Igbo youth groups, said Jonathan had not really appreciated the massive support Ndigbo gave him in 2011.
His words: “We expected massive industrial and infrastructural development. We are not seeing that. We thought he would keep his promises. From the way things are going, it is clear that only the Enugu International Airport could materialize before 2015.
“He promised us at Enugu Stadium, at Imo, Ebonyi, Abia and Anambra campaign rallies, 29 months ago, that we would see a functional seaport at Onitsha and Oguta, power plant at Oji River, dry inland port at Aba, second Niger bridge, re-work on the Enugu-Onitsha road, Enugu-Port Harcourt road, etc. But we suspect he wants to shift all these to his second term; that is not fair.”
We want him to establish a South-East office in his office and review weekly the fulfillment of his promises to Ndigbo if he wants a second term. He will have problems with his second term dream if he does not fulfill all the infrastructural promises he made to Ndigbo. That is the truth.
“We gave him 100 per cent support in 2011; we will only repeat that, if he fulfills all his infrastructural promises to the South East. He is our man but he must not take Ndigbo for granted. We are on ground and we know the grumbling of our people.
We believe we are doing him a big favour by giving him early warning signal. Ndigbo are not happy with the delay tactics of shifting every thing to his second term.
Those telling him that Ndigbo are dead meat are only deceiving him. We want him to fulfill his promises to Ndigbo. We plead with him to watch again the video of his campaign rally at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in March 2011 and remember all the promises he reeled out one by one. Our people are waiting expectantly.
“Ndigbo paid a heavy price for supporting him. Igbo votes saw him through and gave him the needed 25 per cent in 24 states thereby averting a run-off.
In anger over 800 Igbo souls were slaughtered as the results of the polls were announced, only the 10 youth corpers were compensated, nobody remembers the 800 Igbo lives lost in gruesome decapitations in Kano, Bauchi, etc in April 2011.We made him President, we will do it again, if he endeavors to fulfill his promises to our people.
“We also want him to hand over power to an Igboman. He should reciprocate our massive support. It is only fair he does. We also want him to protect lives and properties of Nigerians resident in the North. We note an improvement and pray that sanity eventually returns to the North.

We also want him to set up a committee to work out the modalities for the convening of a National conference to restructure Nigeria along the lines of true federalism. Promises made in 2011 must be kept before talk of second term.”

National Assembly Approves N4.9 Trillion In 2013 Budget Amendment

The National Assembly on Thursday pa approved a total of N4, 987, 220,425,601 in the amendment requested by President Jonathan.
Despite the differences between the executive and legislature over the amendment, the Senate and the House of Representatives swiftly considered and passed the bill.
The amount captured in the amendment is almost the same with the earlier figure approved by the lawmakers in the original budget.
The total budget passed by the Senate was N4.987 trillion, out of which N388 billion was for statutory transfers, N591 billion for debt service, N2.415 trillion for recurrent (non-debt) expenditure, while the balance of N1.591 trillion was earmarked for contribution to the development fund for capital expenditure for the year ending on the 31 December, 2013.
Presidential liaison officer to the National Assembly, Joy Emordi described the passage of the bill as the triumph of constructive dialogue between the presidency and the lawmakers

Boko Haram kills 20

Suspected Boko Haram members at the weekend shot dead more than 20 civilians in northern Borno State, a military spokesman said yesterday.
“The suspected sect members came armed and fired sporadic shots that killed over 20 innocent civilians,” Lt. Haruna Mohammed Sani, spokesman for the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) said.
The violence took place on Saturday in Dawashe village, the army lieutenant said in a statement.
He said men from the Civilian Joint Task Force, a vigilance group formed in Boko Haram’s bastion Maiduguri, to combat the Islamist gunmen who have been terrorising the region for many years, entered Dawashe to search for suspects.
The suspected Boko Haram members subsequently opened fire in the village, the spokesman said, adding that the 20 victims were mostly fishermen and traders.
Sani said a dozen other civilians sustained gunshot wounds during the incident but provided no information on casualties among the belligerents.
The toll and circumstances of the incident could not be immediately verified independently.
Among those killed were five members of the “Civilian JTF” who were on a manhunt for Boko Haram in Mainok town, 58km west of Maiduguri.
The attack on the “Civilian JTF” was the first since the group took courage to hunt down Boko Haram in the state in the last two months.
It was also confirmed that a heavily armed Quick Reaction Squad from MNJTF had been deployed to ensure the safety of lives and property in the area.
Dawashi, Daban-Masara and Malan karanti villages are believed to be the stronghold of the insurgent.
The MNJTF said: “As part of the excellent Civil-Military Relations and humanitarian gesture demonstrated by Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), a dozen of Boko Haram victims affected by the attack in Dawashe District of Kukawa Local Government, got medical treatment in the Headquarters Field Ambulance in Baga town”.
Some members of the “Civilian JTF” also confirmed to reporters in Maiduguri that five of their members who were killed are from Ajilari, Ngomari Airport and Bulumkutu Ward of Maiduguri Metropolitan.
A member, Aliko Musa said: “it was a huge loss to us, some of our brave colleagues were killed yesterday by the outlawed Boko Haram; they paid the supreme price when we visited Mainok village in search of the terrorists but we shall not relent”, he added.
Spokesman for the JTF, Lt Col Sagir Musa however denied the figure even as he confirmed the Mainok attack. According to him, only one of the Youth Volunteers died while another sustained injuries.
The MNJTF, a joint military force set up in 1998 to combat border crimes, consists of troops from Nigeria, Chad and Niger.

'Civilian JTF' Burn Suspected Boko-Haram Member Alive In Maiduguri

Borno youths who go hunting for suspected Boko Haram insurgents are said to have set ablaze a sect member in Dikwa, south east of Maiduguri yesterday.

Volunteer Vigilance Youths Group (VVYG) otherwise known as ‘Civilian JTF’ has been operating in Maiduguri and environs for quite some time now, tracking down and arresting suspecting sect members, and then hand them over to security forces.
Our correspondent gathered that members of the VVYG, which operate along Ngala road in Maiduguri, yesterday raced to Dikwa, once capital of Kanem Borno Empire, where they caught up with the suspect.
The vigilantes claimed the suspect had confessed that he alone had killed more than 70 people.
They said many of those killed were their loved ones and that they had, therefore, vowed to fish him out wherever he goes or enters.
One of the youths who participated in human bonfire said: “We left Maiduguri for Dikwa town purposely to fish out; that Boko haram member who killed our fathers and cousins and then fled to Dikwa town to hide. And when we reached the town, apart from him, we caught 19 other sect members who ran there to hide. We succeeded in bringing them back to Maiduguri, and then we suggested handing over the 19 suspects to the soldiers while our main target would remain with us for a special punishment he deserves because many of us were sorrowfully aggrieved with him; he killed many people in our area when they (Boko Haram members) were strong, and we couldn’t do anything then. But now he has entered his victims’ hands. When we decided to burn him, we just bathed him in fuel and set him on fire to die in presence of all the orphans and widows whom he had caused to suffer. So, what we did to him is minor compared to the evil he did to all of us. Though some of us have even suggested punishments worst than burning but the majority of us emphasised on setting him ablaze, that was why we agreed to just burn the evil Boko Haram sect member who killed our loved ones.
“Why don’t we pity him? No, When he had been coming, shooting people to death, why hadn’t he pited them? Those Boko Haram sect members were pitilessly killing people, so they do not deserve any pity from other people,” he added.

Power Minister Says Nigerians Now Enjoy 16 Hours Of Electricity Supply

The Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo has appealed to those involved in vandalism to desist from such acts or face appropriate sanctions.
Mr Nebo who spoke at the ministerial platform in Abuja said the activities of vandals has served as a setback towards the provision of steady power supply to the affected areas.
While stressing that power supply in the country has improved to 16 hours per day, the minister said that the federal government will focus on the expansion of renewable energy and also fast track its plan of rural electrification.
He highlighted the growing  havoc vandals are doing to prevent a realisation of the power reforms agenda of the administration.  He said the incidence of vandalism of electricity equipment has gotten to that level that except drastic action is taken to contain the menace, the much-touted reform of the power sector may be no more than a dream unrealised.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company in recent times has claimed to have lost many distribution transformer substations under its network to these vandals. The increasing rate at which its equipment were being vandalised had reached unacceptable proportions.
Unfortunately, this is a common trend across the country as managers of the DISCOs make strenuous efforts to cope with equipment vandalism which indeed has become the major obstacle facing the company in the South-East geo-political zone.
While speaking with the House of Representatives Committee on Power, the Chief Executive Officer of the PHCN, Enugu Distribution Station, Suleman Yahaya said 33 out of 37 transformers belonging to the PHCN were stolen by vandals in Abia State, particularly in Arochukwu, Ohafia and Abiriba areas during the committee’s sightseeing as their oversight functions.
Mr Yahaya went further to inform the committee that sometimes, in a day; PHCN loses up to 20 transformers to these criminal elements.
The immediate consequence of these acts of vandalism is that life is made more difficult for law abiding citizens who are thrown into darkness due to erratic power supply occasioned by the activities of the vandals.
The nation’s economy is seriously threatened as industries are being shut down and employees laid off because companies cannot meet production target as many operate below their installed capacity.

Information You Need About Registering A Company In Nigeria

Have you ever felt it was high time you launched your business idea but do not have adequate information on registering a business in Nigeria? Or are you confused and do not know the most suitable structure to choose for your business? Have you search everywhere, yet cannot find a central resource to find answers to your pending incorporation-related issues?

It is against this backdrop I am compelled to start a post on on this page where all related questions with regards starting and registering businesses in Nigeria can be discussed.

This post seeks to provide answers to some questions my clients who we helped to incorporate their companies frequently asked. It is worthy to note, however, that new policies regularly evolve at our nation's company registry - the Corporate Affairs Commission - so this write up is subject to regular update.

Enjoy reading!

Q1: What is a business name and why is it so important?

A business name is the name which a business trades under for commercial purposes. There is more to business names than just identity. A good business name is an advertising tool. Many large companies even hire expensive consultants to help them name their businesses, products and services.

Q2: I have this business name that I love so much, and I want to start a business under that name. Can I proceed immediately?

No. I think the next thing after you must have done a feasibility study on the business itself is to get the business name registered at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Q3: What do you mean by Corporate Affairs Commission?

Registration of businesses in Nigeria is the exclusive responsibility of the Corporate Affairs Commission, also known as CAC; which has its head office in Abuja, and branches in most states of the federation. The CAC is the federal government agency responsible for registration of all companies.

Q4: But I was told that the cost of registering/incorporating a company is expensive. Can’t I go on with the business then register the name later?

My candid advice is No! Having your business registered definitely confers some credibility on it, given that it then acquires an identity. In many important business activities or relationships you may want to get involved in, details of your business registration will be required. You do not have to wait for such occasions before getting your business into the register of companies — you may miss an important opportunity just for that omission.

Q5: Is that all?

No. Using a business name similar or identical to that of a registered business name can land you into problems, including legal issues. Besides, if you have succeeded in doing business for several years under a name which has not been registered, that does not confer ownership of such business name on you. The CAC has to approve the availability of such a business name before you can proceed to file an application to get the name registered.

Q6: Does that mean I may forfeit a business name that I have been trading under and has become so popular in the marketplace just because I didn’t register it at first?

Yes. Due to your negligence, someone somewhere might have registered that name or a similar one. This means you will lose all the goodwill that name garnered over the years.

Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to baby boy

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a boy, the third in the line to the throne and the future King of Great Britain and Canada.

The announcement came after a long day that began with the Duchess going into labour sometime before 6am London time. She was taken to the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s hospital in a car from Kensington Palace with her husband, the Duke of Cambridge. They entered through a back door, avoiding the media throng that had been camped out front of the hospital for weeks.
The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz and was born at 4.24pm.
The palace said in a statement: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm. The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.
“The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.”
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are delighted at the news.”
Soon after the palace announcement was made, a notice giving details about the baby left St Mary’s Hospital in London by car for Buckingham Palace.
It has been signed by the Queen’s former gynaecologist Marcus Setchell, who led the medical team that delivered Kate’s baby.
The notice will be placed on an easel in the palace’s forecourt just like the announcement of William’s birth on June 21, 1982, a traditional element of theatre in marked contrast to the modern age of emails and Twitter.
The new royal baby will be the Queen’s third great-grandchild and is destined to be crowned monarch.
He will be the 43rd sovereign since William the Conqueror if, as expected, it follows reigns by the Prince of Wales then William.

List of senators whose votes helped legalise underage marriage and how it happened (Voting Sheet)

List of senators whose votes helped legalise underage marriage and how it happened (Voting Sheet)

by Stanley Azuakola

We now know how senators voted on the constitution amendment bill which caused an uproar in the senate on Tuesday.

READ: Senate Fails To Get Enough Votes To Deal Blow On Underage Marriage, Backs Pension For Its Leadership

The section up for amendment had to do with persons qualified to renounce Nigerian citizenship. The constitution in Section 29 says anyone of age can do so. Section 29(4) (b) says that ” any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.” It means that even a child if married can be seen to be of full age and as such can renounce citizenship. The committee proposed that that provision be deleted.

When it was put to vote, 2/3 of members present voted for it which meant it was deleted. But, not so fast.

Enter Senator Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara, the controversial former governor of Zamfara who tried to stoke religious sentiments. He said it was against Islamic law. Yerima got married to a teenager a few years ago, and going by the provision, the girl who is still not 18 cannot be said to be of age.

Sen. Yerima needs to watch this video: Watch: Genius: Meet The Most Politically Aware And Lucid 12 Year Old In The World

He kicked and began to mobilise his fellow Muslims in the Senate and it was threatening to cause confusion. Despite the senate president, David Mark insisting that it could no longer be revisited as it had been voted upon, Yerima continued his objection.

Due to the sensitive nature, Mark had to call for another vote. At this point the Senators who were in favour of this clause could no longer muster 2/3 of the votes that will retain Section 29, Clause 4 (b). Senators still voted 60 votes to 35 votes for the clause to be deleted, but it did not satisfy the 2/3 requirement and so, according to the senate version, “any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.”

Thanks to Sen. Babafemi Ojudu (Ekiti Central, ACN), we have the full list of the senators who voted NO)

Airforce Invents Bomb Detecting Robot To Fight Boko Haram

Experts in bomb detonation would soon not need to get closer to such dangerous objects to neutralise them as the Nigerian Airforce has invented a robot to undertake such task from a far distance.

Commandant of the Nigerian Airforce Institute of Technology (NAFIT), Kaduna, John Oshoniyi on Monday said the institute had developed a bomb detective robot capable of detecting bombs from afar, and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for surveillance and intelligence gathering in crisis prone parts of the country.
At a news conference in preparation for the 42nd graduation ceremony of the institute, the commandant said the bomb detonating robot, would assist the security agencies to check the series of bombings by terrorist groups.
The Boko Haram terrorists group has been unleashing waves of violence attacks in the northern part of Nigeria since 2009, and bombs have become its favourite lethal weapon.
On 14 February 2012, a policeman, Sunday Badang, was killed while attempting to detonate a bomb wrapped inside a bag with bare hands along Ungwar Seriki area of Kaduna metropolis.
As a result of that unfortunate incident, NAFIT went into research that led to the invention of this unmanned robot.
Displaying the robot before newsmen, Mr Oshoniyi said the equipment would be presented to the public as soon as it is ready, adding that the UAV, the first in Africa, was a product of the transformation agenda of the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration in attaining higher pedestal in military aviation and defence related technology.

ROYAL BIRTH: Kate Middleton Goes Into Labour (PHOTOS)

The Duchess of Cambridge is at the moment, in the early stages of labour after she was admitted to hospital at just before 6am today.

According to
DailyMail, Prince William is with his wife at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London, where he himself was born in 1982.
The Duchess of Cambridge is expected to be in labour for around half a day, as the average length of
labour for a first-time mother is about 12 hours.
So the royal baby could be born late afternoon, early evening today.

Nollywood actress kicks against Senate’s approval of child marriage

Yenagoa – A notable Nollywood actress, Mrs Omotola Jelaide-Ekeinde,  has criticised the recent Senate approval of early child marriage.
Jelaide-Ekeinde expressed her feeling on the issue while speaking as a Special Guest at the MBGN beauty pageant on Saturday night in Yenagoa.
According to her, approving early marriage of the girl-child will expose her to various abuses and exploitation.
                                                            Omotola
“The number of the Nigerian children on our streets today is alarming and this is due to the abuses and exploitation they suffer in their homes.
“Many of the girls out of school today have been abused, raped and neglected.
“Who cares about the helpless and neglected girl children that are being raped on daily basis?
“Must we have to wait for another Malala Yousafzai before we do what is right for the future of our children?” Jelaide-Ekeinde asked.
The actress, who was honoured with ‘SilverBird Unique Personality of the year’ award, called on the government to rather empower the girl-child through sound and compulsory education programmes.
She enjoined Nigerians to rise and say ‘no’ to the enslavement of the girl-child through early marriages, noting that the time had come for Nigerian girls to be free from all forms of bondage and deprivation.

“That I am the most influential actress in Africa today is because my parents never gave me out to early marriage. I stand up to say ‘no’ to the National Assembly’s endorsement of child-marriage.”
