MAIDUGURI - More than 40 suspected Boko Haram Islamist sect members were Wednesday killed in a Military raid involving air strikes and ground troops of the 7 Division, Nigerian Army in Bita village area along Damboa-Gwoza road of Borno state.
It would be recalled that 12 days ago, over 20
suspected terrorists were reportedly killed in the late hours of Friday
15th November, 2015, by the troops of the Division in Bita village, while
several others escaped when the military laid an offensive attack in one of the
Boko Haram hideouts in the area, as confirmed to Journalists by the Spokesman
of the Division, Colonel Mohammed Dole.
Bita is a village which harbours stronghold
camps of Boko Haram terrorists located 32 kilometres west of Gwoza. While Gwoza
town is about 135 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the state capital which had
witnessed series of attacks and killings in recent times.
